In the industry NG is the main source of power at 31% closely followed by Electricity at 29%. AS time passes, we expect that electricity will soon be at rank 1. The main reason for this is the efficiency of the electrical systems. The latest motors and Lights are able to give up to 85% power efficiency. Similarly other equipment such as Heaters, Transformers etc can give upto 98-99% efficiency.
However, as per our studies in the industry the actual efficiency is lower. This may be due to unavoidable conditions such as variable loads and safety factors causing the operating point to be sub-optimal, but more often than not, we found that the the 2 main causes were -

- Design flaws - process changes without change in electrical systems
